Seeds from Heaven – Day Sixteen

The Ministry of the servant – You will Inherit a Double Portion of Joy

Isaiah 61:6-7 TPT

“But You will be known as Priests of Yahweh, and called Servants of our God. You will feast on the wealth of the nations and revel in their riches! Because you received a double dose of shame and dishonor, you will inherit a double portion of endless joy and everlasting bliss!”

Sometimes it seems like those who serve the Lord faithfully, go through a phase where they constantly face criticism even from people they don’t know. This has been a strategy of the enemy from the beginning. You are not above the Lord Jesus. He faced incredible opposition from those who claimed the monopoly on religion and tradition. The same spirit is at work today. If He faced it, then so will everyone who moves in the Holy Spirit and the will of God. They opposed Him until He was outside the camp and nailed to the cross (Hebrews 13:13). In the Old Testament in the wilderness years, those who were put outside the camp were the law-breakers. They were banished outside in shame. Jesus said that to do His will, we must take up our cross and follow Him. This we take to mean self-denial, but it also means bearing the same shame and dishonor when people do not understand us and mock and reject us.

Beloved believer, revivals and outpourings are wonderful visitations from the Lord, but they come with opposition from man. So many unusual things occur in these seasons which are difficult to understand to the modern and skeptical mind. Do not be alarmed at the many reactions of even people you love. Our only response is to forgive and love. Yet we must not stop our path up the mountain. Do not allow the enemy to cause you to draw back. Your call is to go deeper into Him. He promises in the Scripture above that in place of the shame and dishonor and the name calling and the slandering, He will bestow on you a double portion of joy – which never ceases – and eternal bliss. Bliss is greater than a state of happiness, it is more like ecstasy, where every fiber of your being is alight with joy. What we will receive will outweigh all the nastiness that was thrown our way, and wash away all memory of it.

God bless you,

Susan Yassa
